Rugby great Rory Best is stepping out on a mammoth challenge – and Elave Skincare are backing him every step of the way!
The former Ulster, Ireland, British and Irish Lions Captain is walking an epic 180 miles to raise funds for a therapeutic centre for children with cancer in Co Mayo.
Elave Skincare will be supporting Rory and the Cancer Fund for Children as he sets out from their respite centre at Daisy Lodge outside Newcastle, Co Down, and heads for Cong.
Rory aims to raise €500,000 during his walk from 8-17th September so that a second restorative facility for sick children and their families can be built on the shores of Lough Corrib.
“I’m taking on the challenge in Childhood Cancer Awareness Month to shine a light on the impact a cancer diagnosis has on children, young people and their families,” he said.
“Families need vital support and respite from hospital visits and the worry and stress they face every day…. I hope you will get behind my challenge to help make a real difference to the lives of children with cancer.”
CFC CEO, Phil Alexander said that for every family they currently help, there are another six who cannot be accommodated.
“A new therapeutic centre will help ensure no child faces cancer alone,” he said. “We are looking forward to working with Rory and our Day 3 sponsor, Elave Skincare, to make this happen.”
Elave sensitive skincare is about daily protection of the skin barrier in a world where 1 in 4 babies develop sensitive baby eczema and 1 in 8 adults have eczema, dermatitis and rosacea-prone skin. Providing daily care, hydration, and cleansing for all skin types from newborn.
